本日のブログではダストフィルター交換の必要性について説明したいと思います。
In today's blog, I would like to talk about the need to change the dust filter of your speaker unit.
スピーカーユニットにはマグネットのセンターポールに大きな空気孔があるタイプのものがあります。当社で扱っている多くのJBLユニットもこれに該当します。
Some speaker components are designed with a big hole - vent in the center pole of the magnet, and many of the JBL components that we work on have that characteristic.
スピーカーに信号が入るとコーン紙がピストン運動を行いますが、空気の逃げ道を作ることによってコーン紙の動きを阻害しないために設けられた孔です。この孔からゴミや埃が入るのを防ぐために、ダストフィルターが備わっています。しかし、このダストフィルター自体もJBLオリジナルエッジ同様のウレタンスポンジ素材のため経年劣化によって朽ち、ゴミとなり落ちた先の狭いギャップ内にて固着して異音の原因になってしまうことがあるのです。
The reason for the vent is that when there is a signal put into the speakers, the speaker cone moves in a piston motion vertically. There is a hole, so the air inside can get out and not interfere with the speaker cone's movement.
上の写真のようにスポンジ素材のフィルターがついていることがあります。
As you can see from the photo above, sometimes there is a filter made of sponge on these holes.
このように朽ちてしまい、底に落ちてしまっていることも。
They may deteriorate, and sometimes are found completely loose.
朽ちたダストフィルターや古い接着剤を完全に除去し、綺麗に掃除をして、朽ちる心配のないポリプロピレン材のメッシュへと貼り替えます。
We will clean thoroughly and install a new polypropylene mesh net that has no worries of deteriorating.
