This testimonial is written specially to potential overseas customers to share my experience and journey with Kenrick Sound on acquiring their special restored speakers.
I am indeed privilege to be the proud owner of a specialised custom made restored JBL 4333A by Kenrick Sound.
My search for a stereo sound system started 2.5 years ago through reading hifi magazines and visiting numerous audio retailers but end up disappointed and fruitless as there is no retailer willing to demo my choice speakers, amplifier and sound source in one common sound room location.
When I have finally narrow my selection on a pair of new JBL speakers model and matching amplifier but was later informed that the speakers are out of stock which need to be ordered from Japan. Hearing that JBL is very popular in Japan; I decided to do some research through the internet and hoping to order directly from Japan on my own instead. I happened to chance upon www.jbl43.com (Kenrick Sound); I was sceptical at first and spent many nights reviewing the testimonials, staff blogs and Kenji’s youtube and was finally convinced that I should visit Kenrick Sound (KRS) as I have a family holiday to Tokyo coming up soon. The requested appointment was promptly responded to and confirmed with Kenji San.
The visit to KRS was impressive with a tour of its workshop (seeing “men at work” with passion and attention to detail), components storage facilities and sound testing room on completed speakers. After hearing some live like performance sounding speakers being tested; I was convinced and have no hesitation wanting to own a pair for myself and managed to secure the JBL 4333A customised from the JBL Apollo which I have heard.
Throughout the speaker restoration process; Kenji San has been very professional and informative, constant emails on the progress of the restoration work were posted with assurances of a great craftsmanship to look forward to and enquiries being promptly replied to.
Finally; these “Jewels of Sound” were received in good conditions without a scratch recently as they were securely packed and cushioned to take long haul flight and land handling transportation. I have spent many hours listening to these Jewels of Sound since their arrivals; the sense of wide expansive stereo sound stage imaging and vocal clarity is projected convincingly, truly enjoyable and tireless to listen to.
I have no reservation to recommend those overseas and local Japan potential customers who are seeking to own a uniquely crafted and restored customised pair of JBL speakers to seriously consider Kenji San and his team of profession staff from Kenrick Sound.
